President Rodrigo Roa Duterte urged the people of Negros Occidental to vote for candidates who share mutual drive and interest in developing the country and protecting it against illegal drugs, corruption, and criminality as he graced the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) Campaign Rally in Victorias City, Negros Occidental.

In his opening remarks, President Duterte gave emphasis on the possible pitfalls of government transactions.

“If ever may isang infrastructure program, well it’s really sometimes pagandahan and yet we have this project, a couple of the press conference, tapos may mga announcement. Then after six months, may kaso na sa korte,” the President stated.

“So ganun ang transaction sa Pilipinas. So much so, and I would like to assure you na ako mismo I do not allow transactions or document papers to ever, ever reach my table. Hindi ako nagtatanggap ng… It begins and ends with the Cabinet member. Wala akong imprimatur, wala lahat,” he added.

He also urged his Cabinet members to deliver great results in their respective departments.
“Problema ninyo ‘yan, you work on it. Give me a product that is good, that is a product of honesty and a product of goodwill,” President Duterte exclaimed.

After his remarks on governance, the President lauded the 12 senatorial candidates of the PDP-Laban, citing their landmark bills that were passed into laws and recognized their years of service to the people and the government.

He also acknowledged and vouched for each candidate’s characters and work ethics, giving them high praise for being hardworking public officials and true to their duty through their years of service to the people.

An estimated crowd of 26,000 flocked PDP-Laban’s campaign rally, making it the biggest rally of the political party to date.
