Best Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng: Village Park Restaurant Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. The Village Park Restaurant serves the best version of Malaysia’s national Dish Nasi Lemak. Village Park was opened in 2003 by Mohammed Shamil Ngoh bin Abdullah, a Chinese-Muslim Singaporean who migrated to Kuala Lumpur. Nasi lemak is a Malay fragrant rice dish cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaf and best served with ayam goreng berempah or their version of Spiced Fried Chicken also include groundnuts, “ikan bilis” (crisp-fried anchovies), slivers of fresh cucumbers, hard-boiled/fried egg, and a generous dollop of spicy sambal sauce.
This restaurant is crowded all day long and frequented by past and
present Malaysian Prime Ministers from Dr Mahathir, to Abdullah Badawi and Najib Tun Razak.
From their menu we would highly recommend their signature Nasi Lemak with ayam goreng (RM10.40) which looks tantalizingly messy, it smells intoxicatingly good and frankly tasts even better. The rice was fragrantly aromatic, fluffy and hot. The sambal was spicy and flavorful and the star of the show the ayan goreng berempah was out of this world and worth all the calories.
